LOW-fAT bUT QUALITy-fAT
What? We probably all know that "fat makes fat" and in general terms this holds true. Nearly all of us eat too
much fat in our diets and so reducing fat is a great idea. Our bodies do need fat though, and there are some
very good fats that we should be sure to eat. This can become a rather complex and confusing area so let's
offer some simple practical tips:
1. Reduce animal-fats (meat and eggs and full-cream dairy), which are what we call saturated fats (bad fat).
2. Avoid fast-foods and junk-foods (almost always high-fat bad-fat)
3. Avoid deep-fried foods (always high-fat bad-fat)
4. Try to grill, bake, or steam rather than frying
5. Do eat "fatty fishes" like salmon, tuna, and mackerel at least once a week
6. Do use olive oil in place of other cooking oils, but use moderate amounts
