2024 NETWORK CHOICE 28 How does a Medical Scheme differ from a Loyalty Programme? In terms of the Medical Schemes Act, schemes are strictly regulated in terms of the reserves required to be maintained, benefits they can provide, levels of non-health care costs e.g., administration fees and commissions that can be paid to brokers - CAMAF does not use brokers. A loyalty programme is designed to be an optional "added value" proposition to provide members with additional lifestyle benefits. These "policies" are not governed by the Medical Schemes Act in terms of what benefits they can provide, broker commissions, administration fees, etc. Multiply Wellness & Rewards CAMAF's loyalty and wellness partner is Multiply. This gives our members access to the substantially improved rewards and great discounts from Multiply partners. All CAMAF members qualify for FREE membership to Multiply Engage. With Multiply Engage members can enjoy discounts of 10% off on gym membership fees, 2% back in Dis-Chem benefit points on everything in their trolley, movie discounts at Nu Metro, and much more. For even greater benefits and discounts, you can upgrade your membership to Multiply Engage Plus. Why do I have to pay extra for a loyalty programme? Because these are optional "added value" benefits, which are not permitted to be included in the benefits offered by a registered medical scheme. 2024 NETWORK CHOICE Wellness & Loyalty Programme BACK TO CONTENTS PAGE
