2024 NETWORK CHOICE 20 How do I know whether there will be a co-payment on my medication and what alternatives there are within the acceptable price limit? You can check whether the medication your doctor has prescribed will attract a co-payment or not and what alternatives are available by going to https://networks. medikredit.co.za/product_search/CAMAF/W and: • Select your Benefit Option from the drop-down list • Select "Yes" under Chronic Authorisation and then choose to either search by Product or Condition • Enter the name of your Product (Medicine) or Condition and search • You will then find out how much your Scheme will reimburse for your medication, if co-payments apply or which alternative medication is used for the similar condition. Your chemist is obliged to offer you a generic equivalent (if available) if there is a co-payment. This facility cannot give the exact value of the co- payment but it does provide a comprehensive list of medication and generic alternatives, showing which would attract a co-payment and which not. The Max Scheme Liability is the maximum amount that the Scheme will pay - this indicates the price of the medication (SEP) before adding on a dispensing fee. The co-pay applies column will indicate if your medication will attract a co-payment or not. You will also see a list of all the medication within the same category as the medicine you have entered. Where can I find a Designated Service Provider for chronic medication? A list of retail as well as courier pharmacies is available under the Member Login section on our website or mobile app - Chromic menu > Information > Pharmacy Networks. If I am HIV positive where do I obtain my medication? The DSP for this medication is Medipost. What are the advantages of using a courier pharmacy? Your medication is delivered to you at the appropriate time and they will pro-actively apply for registration of your medication. What options do I have if my current pharmacy is not on the network? • Request your pharmacist to consider joining the Network by emailing implementationsdept@medikredit.co.za for an application form. • Retrieve your prescription from your current pharmacy and choose a Network pharmacy from which to obtain your new supply of medication. • Remain with your current pharmacy and pay the additional costs. How do I register my chronic condition? A Chronic application form, obtainable from the website must be completed by your nominated GP and submitted to CAMAF, either on line or submitted to clinicalrisk@camaf.co.za or faxed to 011 707 8622. Alternatively, your nominated GP or pharmasist can contact CAMAF to register your condition on 0800 200 300. You can also register your condition via the CAMAF mobile app or on the website under the Member Login section. Once your condition has been registered, you will have access to the CONDITION MEDICINE LIST (CML). This is a list of drugs, appropriate for your condition, that do not require authorisation every year. BACK TO CONTENTS PAGE
