So to be sure that RA is the correct diagnosis, children should be evaluated by the doctor. As in the treatment of AR in adults, intranasal corticosteroids are an excellent treatment options for children. Over The Counter medications (OTC) or decongestants such as cough, cold and flu are to be used with caution, due to their potential adverse effects especially in children aged 2 to 11 years. Parents who use these products in their children should do so as specifically directed by their doctor. preGnAnCy Choosing not to treat symptoms of AR during pregnancy will not harm the mother or her developing fetus. However, treatment can improve a pregnant women's quality of life. Symptoms of AR may worsen during pregnancy, so it would be best to discuss the most appropriate treatment with your doctor. Patients can be severely restricted in their daily activities if their AR is not controlled, resulting in excessive time away from school or work. Speak to your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare provider about the most appropriate treatment for you.
