If I need to have my repeat medication dispensed
earlier than normal because I am going away
what do I need to do?
Repeat medication may only be obtained 24 days after
the previous supply. Should you need the medication
to be dispensed before the 24 day period has lapsed,
because you are going out of South Africa, such
arrangements should be made with the Disease and
Medicine Risk Management department 14 days in
advance.
From what part of my benefit is payment made for
the procedures and consultations related to my
chronic condition?
Consultations for PMB CDL conditions will be covered
at cost from your insured benefit, subject to protocols.
Consultations for the Additional Chronic Diseases are
limited to one consultation per year, subject to protocols.
If I travel for an extended period overseas how
can I get my chronic medication?
You can apply in writing for an extended supply of
medication to be dispensed up to a maximum of 3
month's supply.
This application should be made two weeks prior to
departure. Should your stay extend beyond three
months, motivation can be made for approval to the
Principal Officer.
