These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19 or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. • Wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap and towel them properly or use a sanitiser. • Avoid close contact with anyone who is coughing, has a chest infection and/or a fever. Clean your hands after direct contact with ill people or their environment. • Avoid touching your face, mouth and eyes with your hands. • Stay at home when you are sick and try to keep a distance, and limit contact with others at home. • Avoid direct, unprotected contact with farm or wild animals or visiting places where live animals are sold.
