#AllAboutCancer Myth: Men cannot get breast cancer Fact: Wrong! Men do get breast cancer. Although breast cancer is mainly a disease of women, some men also develop breast cancer. Breast cancer is about 100 times less common among men than among women. For all males the lifetime risk of getting breast cancer is about 1 in 788. Research shows that the risk for breast cancer in males increases with the excessive use of alcohol.
